Mindfulness practices help leaders to steer a pathway through trivial and low-priority matters, nurture passion for their work, compassion for others, and to empower the people in their organizations.
Developing a greater empathy for the self-results in greater compassion and empathy for others, while providing deeper insight. It prevents leaders and employees from kicking-out, blaming and judging.
In the study “Loving-kindness and compassion meditations in the workplace”, the effects of loving-kindness and compassion meditations in the workplace is explored. These meditative practices were found to enhance employees’ well-being, increase positive emotions, improve job satisfaction, and reduce work-related stress. Additionally, they were associated with increased prosocial behavior, such as empathy and cooperation among colleagues. It suggests that these practices can contribute to a more positive and supportive work environment, leading to improved employee well-being and better business results.
